Dashcam Installation in a 2026 Kia Seltos: First Look and Setup Review

A dashcam is one of the most practical accessories a car owner can add. It records the road ahead, documents incidents, and can provide evidence if something goes wrong. Rohit Kumar's channel recently published a Hindi-language video showing a new dashcam installed in a 2026 Kia Seltos, titled "Full Installation + First Look." For Indian drivers looking to add a car camera to a newer SUV, the video offers a useful real-world look at what the setup involves. The reviewer's hands-on approach, with the camera mounted in an actual car, makes it more relevant than a spec sheet alone.

Note: The model name of the dashcam wasn't identified in the information available for this article, so this piece doesn't name a specific product. Check the video description or on-screen labels for the exact brand and model.

Key Features and Performance

The video is presented as a first look at the device, so it focuses on the initial impressions of the dashcam after it is fitted. The available details don't confirm specific specifications such as resolution, frame rate, field of view, or storage capacity, so readers should confirm these directly in the video.

When evaluating any dashcam, several features matter most. Video quality determines whether license plates and road signs are legible, which is critical for incident documentation. Night vision performance is equally important, since many accidents and low-light situations occur after dark. Parking mode, which records when the vehicle is stationary, is another feature worth checking, as it can capture hit-and-run incidents while the car is parked. Loop recording, which overwrites older footage automatically, and G-sensor impact detection, which locks footage during a collision, are also common features to look for.

Viewers should watch the reviewer's footage closely to judge how these features perform in practice, rather than relying on marketing claims.

Installation and Usability

Installing a dashcam in a modern car like the Seltos typically involves routing the power cable, usually along the windshield edge and through the trim, and connecting it to a power source. The video's "Full Installation" title suggests it walks viewers through this process step by step, which is useful for DIY installers.

Setup and configuration, such as adjusting the camera angle, formatting the memory card, and enabling recording modes, are central to a good experience. Any companion app or on-device menu should be easy to navigate. Since the details of the interface weren't confirmed in the available information, viewers should check the video for how straightforward the setup proves in practice.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

- The video shows a complete installation in a current-generation Kia Seltos, which is helpful for owners of the same model.

- The step-by-step, first-look format gives a realistic preview before buying.

- The Hindi-language presentation makes the content accessible to a wide audience of Indian drivers.

Cons:

- The video has a relatively small audience at the time of writing (about 1,694 views), so there is limited community feedback on the product.

- Key specifications and long-term performance data aren't available from the information provided, so the video alone may not answer every question.

Conclusion

For Seltos owners and drivers considering a dashcam, this video offers a practical look at installation and first impressions. It is best suited to viewers who want to see a dashcam fitted in a real vehicle before deciding on a purchase.
